The Madison Heights Crime Commission:
- Studies the crime situation in the City,
- Makes recommendations for its prevention and elimination, and
- Develops citizen cooperation in law enforcement.
The Commission offers safety tips, anti-smoking programs, child identification kits, and staffs informational tables at City festivals. Meetings are held every 3rd Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Police Department Conference Room and are open to the public.
The commission is made up of 12 members appointed by the Mayor for 3-year terms; 1 Council Representative added - Ordinance 920 of 02-27-95. Each member must be a registered voter of the City.
